Service Description
Rhythm • Virtuosity • Creativity (for all levels) 7 weeks · 1 hour per week Columbia Style Rumba is a form of Cuban rumba known for its dynamic character, its play with rhythm, its precision, and its virtuosity. Traditionally associated with male expression, Columbia can nevertheless be explored and danced by everyone, regardless of gender. This course offers an open approach that allows each participant to develop their own body language through movement. The work emphasizes the ability to play with rhythm, interpret the music, create variations, and progressively develop virtuosity, coordination, and creativity. Participants will learn to use their bodies as true musical instruments, exploring the accents, rhythmic changes, shifts, isolations, and movements characteristic of Columbia. Columbia is a dialogue between the body and the music: a space where rhythm becomes playful, where technique opens the door to creativity, and where each dancer can develop their own style.
